2008 Fall Youth Instructional/Beginner Lacrosse Classes sponsored by Coastal Athletics.
Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm (K, 1, 2 & 3 graders) & 6:30pm - 7:30pm (4, 5, & 6 graders); Cost: $60.00 per player. Event will be held at North Chase Commerce Park, 2049 Corporate Drive South, Wilmington, NC 28405. Pat's Tire & Auto Ultimate Golf Tournament to benefit the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
Time: 1 p.m.; Cost: Entry fee is $800 per team. Event will be held at Magnolia Greens Golf Plantation. The tournament also features a magician and prizes including $10,000 hole-in-one, $1,000 within 12 inches to one of the par three holes, his/hers Bulova watches, trip to Sea Mist in Myrtle Beach, and an escape to the Bahamas. Proceeds benefit Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. Reservation deadline is Sept. 4. For more information visit www.paws-ability.org or contact John Pannullo at 910-575-5533 or jnp@atmc.net.  Additional Information: Paws-Ability, the Brunswick County non-profit organization that raises money to aid animal shelters, animal rescue groups and pets in need, is inaugurating a festive event for animal lovers Sunday, October 5, 2008. Dubbed the Wag Shag, the old-fashioned picnic and celebration will take place in an air-conditioned tent on the grounds of Sea Trail's Convention Center from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. You are invited to bring your socialized and well-behaved canine companion along to join the fun. In addition to the midday cookout, entertainment will be provided by D.J. The Big Bopper, and dog dancing and a shag demonstration will follow lunch. A cash bar will be available. Several contests are planned for attendees who bring along their canine friends, and a pet photographer and caricature artist will be on hand to memorialize you and your pet's participation. A few canine escorts will also be available for those desiring a doggie date for the afternoon. Tickets, at $35 each (dogs are free), will go on sale in mid-August.
